Bizmuth
Bizmuth 1.0.0-rc3 is available to download. Seven new ADP commands let a tool drive the emulator: reset it, run a bounded number of frames, read physical RAM, swap SD cards and capture audio. The Copper and the AY mixer behave more like the hardware.
macOS now has two downloads, one for Apple Silicon and one for Intel, in place of a single disk image for both.
Added
- Seven ADP commands for driving the emulator from a tool: reset, bounded frame runs, status, physical RAM, SD mounting, audio capture and controller ownership [
reset, runframes, status, pmem,sd,audio capture, control] - A debugger client can hold the machine; other clients, the debugger panel and desktop input wait until it releases [
control acquire] - Rhai
printanddebugoutput reaches the script log
Fixed
- 4 Copper and raster fixes — a palette or scroll change in horizontal blanking recoloured the row above it, mode 3 restarted at the wrong line, a list restarted after a stop carried on mid-way, NextReg $1E/$1F advanced early
- 2 AY mixing fixes — NextReg $09’s per-chip mono settings were not honoured, and stereo played the centre channel at half level
- Wide Layer 2 blends tilemap masks across the side margins and the top and bottom rows
- An ADP machine switch overridden by a menu choice in the same frame no longer runs a frame later
The full changelog has the rest, and the manual covers the new ADP commands.
Bizmuth is free. Get it from the Downloads page, or try it in your browser. ROMs and SD images are user-supplied and not included.
