Tape & disk

Both live under the Media menu, alongside the Next SD-card slots.

Tapes

Insert a .tap or .tzx with Media → Tape → Insert Tape… (Ctrl+T), or by opening the file directly. Media → Tape then controls playback:

• Play / Resume and Stop — start/resume or stop the tape.
• Rewind — return to the beginning.
• Fast vs Real Time — Fast uses ROM-trap loading (instant, .tap only); Real Time plays the true EAR-pin signal (loading stripes and audio) and is needed for .tzx and copy-protected loaders.

Tape progress is shown in the status bar.

Disks (+3)

On the Spectrum +3, Media → Disk drives the built-in floppy (.dsk / .edsk):

• Insert Disk A… / Eject Disk A
• Flip Disk A — swap to the other side (double-sided images only).
• Save Disk A As… — write the (possibly modified) image back out.
• Write Protect A — prevent writes to the disk.
