Save states & screenshots

Save states

A save state captures the entire machine — CPU, memory, video, audio and paging — so you can return to the exact moment later. This is Bizmuth’s own format (distinct from .sna/.z80 snapshots) and is full-fidelity across every machine.

Save states can be created and restored from the command line with --savestate and --loadstate (see the Command-line reference).

Screenshots

Capture the current display as a PNG with File → Save Screenshot… (Ctrl+S). Bizmuth can also capture screenshots headlessly with the --screenshot option.
