Machines

Bizmuth emulates six machines. Pick one from the Machine menu; the emulator switches instantly.

MachineNotes
16K SpectrumThe original 16K ZX Spectrum — RAM only from $4000, on the 48K ROM.
48K SpectrumThe original 48K ZX Spectrum.
128K SpectrumThe 128K, with the AY-3-8912 sound chip and the 128K menu.
Spectrum +2A (black)The black +2A, on the +3 ROM set (no disk drive).
Spectrum +3The +3, with the built-in disk drive (see Tape & disk).
ZX Spectrum NextThe full ZX Spectrum Next — Layer 2, sprites, tilemap, the copper, DMA and more. The default.

Each machine needs its own ROM files (see Installation). The Next additionally needs an SD card image to boot NextZXOS.

Switching machine resets the emulator. On the Next, the Machine menu also carries the core hotkeys (hard/soft reset, DivMMC/Multiface NMI, 50/60 Hz, scanlines, CPU speed) — see the main window.
