Loading software

Open software with File → Open… (Ctrl+O), or drag and drop a file onto the window. Bizmuth picks the right loader from the file type.

Next executable	`.nex`	Loaded via the NextZXOS loader; runs immediately.
Snapshot	`.sna`, `.z80`, `.snx`	Restores a saved machine state.
Tape	`.tap`, `.tzx`	Inserted into the tape deck — see Tape & disk.
Disk	`.dsk`	Inserted into the +3 disk drive.

Next software

.nex files run on the Next. Many games and demos instead live on the SD card and are launched from the NextZXOS browser — see SD cards & NextZXOS.

Snapshots

Loading a snapshot restores the exact machine state it was saved in. Bizmuth also has its own full-fidelity save states — see Save states & screenshots.
